UK Inspiration Challenge

Written By: admin - Nov• 11•12

The UK Group over at Artisan Whimsy decided to throw out a UK Inspiration Challenge. Sounded like a bit of fun, so here I am linked up to another design challenge. I decided to go with Dorset as I was attracted to that because of it’s button making history. I am paying homage to all the button making, cottage industry women from the past.

  1. These are so much fun! I love that you’ve mixed buttons with metal and fiber – great mixed media pieces

  2. Gale says:

That was a nice tribute to the button-makers, with a really unique combination of buttons!

  3. I love your button earrings. I am a long time antique button collector. My favorites are the second pair with the shell buttons. Those are just too adorable. You have paid a wonderful homage to Dorset. Great job!

  4. Shalini says:

    Gorgeous! Especially Dorset II

  5. Therese says:

Beautiful tribute to the women that spent long hours making beautiful buttons. Your earrings are gorgeous!

  6. d says:

I think i like the first pair best… I like the way you’ve incorporated the buttons into the earrings!

  7. Lesley Watt says:

Those are both great designs that I would wear in a heartbeat! Thank you for choosing Dorset – I love that you chose buttons as your theme but I also think the colours and textures you have used represent our coastal regions beautifully too.

  8. Jo Tinley says:

I was hoping that someone would be inspired by Dorset’s button making past! Both pairs of earrings are gorgeous – thank you for taking part in our challenge!

  9. I love buttons. I think it is so cool that you are recognizing them and the town. You created some fabulous earrings.

  10. Sharyl says:

I think both pairs of earrings are fabulous! I really like the designs and materials! Either one would be so fun to wear!

  11. Drooolacious! I want!!!!
