Here’s my entry for the Inspired By Nature weekly challenge: Trees… the idea of trees is pretty inspiring, especially so here in the Mojave Desert. My favorite tree isn’t really botanically a tree, although it is referred to as a tree. Have you figured it out yet? Of course, it’s the Joshua Tree. Otherwise known as Yucca brevifolia (read more about it here.) Perhaps one of the slowest growing trees around. I’ve grown a few from seed and they are now about eight years old and only knee high in height. They are related to the lily and garlic family. For this design, I decided to pull out my alphabet metal stamps and incorporate a favorite saying of mine: DIRT WORSHIPING TREE HUGGER! Another thrill was using my Joshua Tree rubber stamp from Viva Las Vegas Stamps (if you like rubber stamps, this place is a must see , but I digress…) and creating a focal bead incorporating a piece from Susan Lenart Kazmer’s Industrial Chic line. Add a few interesting beads, some C-Lon cord and some micro macrame knots and that’s the end of this story. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
