Art Bead Scene June Challenge 2012

I’ve always liked this painting by Edward Hopper Nighthawks (1942) Can’t everyone relate to the late night, cheap diner experience? I think we’ve all been there and done that at some point in our development. Who knew, even the Simpson’s had an episode featuring this cheap diner backdrop? Enough talk, here’s the jewelry design for […]

The Button Swap 2012

Never one to just sit idle, even when I’m really busy, I can’t not fuss with some project. The buttons for this challenge were no exception. I had to pull out the drill and add a few more holes for the earrings and then I decided to alter the large royal blue button. I […]

One Crayon Color Challenge

Here’s the reveal day for the One Crayon Color Challenge. Thanks to Sally Russick for hosting the hop. I’m not sure why I selected the color orange. I’m really fond of certain shades and tones of orange, mainly rust colors, but flat out orange always seems a bit too bright and obnoxious to me. While […]

Planting Seeds

Seed beads of course. Third attempt at seed bead embroidery, with another seed beaded cuff bracelet. Brighter colors this time around. I diligently checked my mailbox and after a reasonable amount of time had passed, sent the “I didn’t get mine yet” email out. Alas, the kit finally arrived […]

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 – BTW

Here’s what’s on the bead table today: A freshly completed silk sari ribbon and yarn cuff featuring another ceramic focal by Birgitta (a.k.a. AngelWhisper at Etsy). And maybe this is what’s in store for today, I’m liking these colors teals, browns and beiges… But, I may not get around to it because I did this […]

What is an original design worth?

What is an original design worth? This post brings to mind the late Janis Joplin song : Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart “Come on, come on, come on, come on now Didn’t I make you feel, oh baby, like you were the only one Baby didn’t I give you nearly everything that a […]
