UK Inspiration Challenge

The UK Group over at Artisan Whimsy decided to throw out a UK Inspiration Challenge. Sounded like a bit of fun, so here I am linked up to another design challenge. I decided to go with Dorset as I was attracted to that because of it’s button making history. I am paying homage to all the button making, […]

April Art Bead Scene Challenge

My interpretation of the April Monthly Art Bead Scene Challenge.  The real challenge these days is trying to find some time to create. The shortage of time does seems to help me focus and hone down the design process. Nothing too elaborate here with this necklace, but I think it captures the theme of the […]

Andrew Thornton October Readers Challenge Blog Hop

I was real pleased with myself when I was able to snag one of Andrew Thornton’s October Challenge kits. These kits always seem to sell out FAST. I diligently checked my mailbox and after a reasonable amount of time had passed, sent the “I didn’t get mine yet” email out. Alas, the kit finally arrived […]

Inspired By Nature Challenge SEA Waves Necklace

I challenged myself to play along for the full series of the Inspired By Nature Challenges. I think this is week number ten and the last four jewelry making challenges are sea related. Here’s the design I came up with for this week: I’m referring to this necklace as waves because the lampwork focal bead […]

Fiddleheads Necklace

Another challenge piece here for the Inspired By Nature jewelry series by Heather Powers. This weeks theme is the Forest Floor. It’s been some time since I’ve been for a stroll in the forest, perhaps five years or more. So, it took me a while to remember, then I recalled that when I lived in […]

Seeing Red In The Garden Necklace

Surprise, it’s not a micro macrame jewelry piece. This necklace was created for the Art Bead Scene July Challenge. Each month a work of art is featured and used as inspiration for the design process. This month, the art is Morning in the Garden at Vaucresson by Edouard Vuillard.  Lovely color pallet to play with […]

Beading Yogini Silk Sari Bangle Bracelets

Hand cut and dyed silk ribbon, recycled silk sari yarn, leftover bits of c-lon cord from micro-macrame projects, torched glass tipped copper head pins, lampwork wired wrapped beads and hammered copper wire. It’s a color fest. Thanks to Shannon Levart for her inspirational tutorial. Check out her work at missficklemeadiacom.
