Full Moon Inspiration

Recently inspired by the full moon on the 25th. Finally completed this cuff that I started last August for the 6th Bead Soup Blog Hop. This bead embroidered bracelet features a ceramic focal bead by my favorite ceramic bead artist, the talented jewelry designer Birgitta Lejonklou (AngelWhisperer on Etsy.)

January 2013 ABS Challenge

Peacocks…beautiful and captivating in all their splendor. Highly symbolic in many spiritual traditions (read more about that here.) Black Peacocks with Japanese Persimmons Jessie Arms Botke, 1940 Oil and Gold Leaf on Panel I really like the texture in the tail feathers in this piece of artwork. For the January 2013 Art Bead Scene Challenge, I […]

December 2012 ABS Challenge

This is the final Art Bead Scene Challenge for 2012. Thank goodness it’s a lovely winter scene without all of the “red and green” holiday scene background!   Sleeping Beauty by Erté, 1983 26 1/2″ x 33″ Serigraph (color palette by Brandi Hussey) It took me some time to come up with a design. Double Wave Bracelet and Earrings

Even though summer is over for most, it is still hot here in the Mojave desert and I am still dreaming of a visit to the beach. That’s probably why I designed this double wave bracelet in aqua and tan (waves and sand). The earrings are recycled from a tin found at a yard sale.

Art Bead Scene July Challenge 2012

Hard to believe that this was inspired by a Picasso? “Two Acrobats with a dog” by Pablo Picasso, 1905 July Art Bead Scene Challenge 2012 I didn’t know that Picasso even painted anything other than those crazy abstract looking works. This selection did inspire me to work with color combinations that I would never choose […]

Art Bead Scene June Challenge 2012

I’ve always liked this painting by Edward Hopper Nighthawks (1942) Can’t everyone relate to the late night, cheap diner experience? I think we’ve all been there and done that at some point in our development. Who knew, even the Simpson’s had an episode featuring this cheap diner backdrop? Enough talk, here’s the jewelry design for […]

The Button Swap 2012

Never one to just sit idle, even when I’m really busy, I can’t not fuss with some project. The buttons for this challenge were no exception. I had to pull out the drill and add a few more holes for the earrings and then I decided to alter the large royal blue button. I […]
