Trees Laden with Parasites and Epiphytes in a Brazilian Garden, 1873 Marianne North.
I found myself with a little time on my hands this week and I was inspired to participate in the Art Bead Scene June Monthly Challenge. I did a full year of the challenges in 2012 (you can read about that here), but haven’t participated in a long time. So, here’s the result of my effort for the challenge this month. I wanted to keep it simple and still be a stretch for me, so I decided to make an “macrame art bead” using the butterfly image for inspiration. I’ve recently been incorporating crystals into macrame designs and this design provided the perfect opportunity to include a small clear quartz crystal. Other than the knotting, I decided to keep the rest of the necklace unadorned except for a few small seed beads using the color palette provided by Brandi Hussey. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. You can see what other designers have created at the ABS flickr group.
That’s awesome and it’s absolutely perfect for the inspiration photo. Love it!
