Art Bead Scene August Challenge

Frederick Ramsdell ABS August ChallengeThe inspiration for the Art Bead Scene August Challenge is the art deco poster by Frederick Winthrop Ramsdell, American Crescent Cycles. Thought I’d give the idea of using some crescent shapes a spin for my challenge entry necklace. I decided to roll with bone shaped crescent pieces and then dug up an old tea tin. I snipped the tin and utilized some very tiny bolts and screws to make the focal center piece. Got out the Pepe disc cutter, hammer and files and proceeded to bang it out. Tied in some art deco type links, jump rings, the thinnest c-lon cord and some lucite and metal flower beads for the dangle. This necklace is adjustable length, can be worn short (bare photo) or longer (red shirt photo.) Light weight, hangs well and unique design. Thanks for the inspiration ABS! Process photos below:
