Another challenge piece here for the Inspired By Nature jewelry series by Heather Powers. This weeks theme is the Forest Floor. It’s been some time since I’ve been for a stroll in the forest, perhaps five years or more. So, it took me a while to remember, then I recalled that when I lived in New England, I was fascinated the first time that I saw fiddlehead ferns. This piece finally gave me an opportunity to take a stab at needle felting. The focal for this necklace is needle felted, embroidered and sewn on to a hammered copper frame. A small wire coiled bail, some copper links and micro macrame cord with seed beads, a few of my tiny lampwork glass beads, finished off with some silk sari yarn by Design Talented One, and a polymer clay toggle bead clasp that I made years ago. The necklace is lightweight and is adjustable in length.
I really love all your work, very unique and fun!
Thank you.
